Made possible by a grant from the Blanche Stastny Foundation
The In-School Music Program was begun by long time Clear Lake Symphony supporter Blanche Stastny in 1995. The Clear Lake Symphony has a wonderful relationship with surrounding communities and presents an American History in Cultural Music in the public schools as part of their “In-School Music Education Program”. A Team of 12 players performed a Mini-Concert at P. H. Green Elementary School along with “A History of Popular Music Through the Years in America.”
CLS Liason, Sherrie Matula, & the CCISD Director of Visual Arts coordinated the schools.
The symphony is dedicated to the musical education of our children and brings classical music to the public schools, at no cost to the students or taxpayers, through classroom demonstrations and discussions. The Symphony annually donates numerous tickets to students to provide them with the opportunity to enjoy a free symphony concert. For additional information, call Sherrie Matula, (281) 486-0224.
